Cardiology comes from the Greek: the prefix καρδίᾱ (kardiā) means heart, and the suffix -logy (-λογία) means the study of something, in this case a doctor who deals with heart disorders.

Cardiology diagnoses and treat heart failure, valvular heart diseasecongenital, heart defects, coronary artery disease and electrophysiology.

It is important to say that Cardiologists are not the same as Cardiac surgeons like Cardiovascular Surgeon and Cardiothoracic Surgeon.
