Amazônia

The Amazon watershed is drained by the Amazon River, that is approximately 20% of the planet’s fresh water.

The Amazon is the largest state of Brazil having at the same time the highlands, as the Neblina Peak  (Fog Peak), with 3.014m, and March 31 Peak (Pico 31 de Março), with 2.992m of height, and the largest  expanse of lowlands (less than 100 meters) from Brazil.

The Amazon watershed is drained by the Amazon River, that is approximately 20% of the planet’s fresh  water. The main Rivers are Negro (which surrounds the city of Manaus), Amazonas, Solimões,  Madeira, Juruá, Purus, Issa, Japurá and Uaupés. The climate that prevails in Amazon is equatorial  with an average temperature of 26 ° C. It is also the best preserved state of the country, with 98% of  its original forest cover.

Nature tourism is the main attraction of tours in the Amazon. The visitor has the opportunity to meet, learn and appreciate the importance of the rainforest and the people who live there, who are primarily responsible for their safekeeping. For their direct contact with nature, the state is part of the scripts offered by agencies at boat programs, overnight in jungle lodges and forest hikes.
